Your Role

We are currently hiring Data Scientists and Data Engineers to become part of the first ten employees of our company and core members of our early-stage team. Working directly with the founders, the data scientists/engineers will be interfacing cross-functionally with our technology development team, relevant academic advisers, our in-house operations team as well as external contractors and select clients. Key focus of our early-stage work will be on expanding the current algorithms to become a full-fledged model architecture, core to the functioning of our business. Our ideal candidate is pragmatic, approachable and filled with knowledge tempered by past failures. You’ll need to use your judgement when investigating cases of ambiguous fraud and when you’re investigating the veracity of the model itself. We have to build robust models that are capable of updating their beliefs when they encounter new methods of fraud.



  • Understanding the data which our clients provide to us
  • Cleaning that data and validating that it is correct
  • Preprocessing the data, usually by using a mixture of shell scripts and a programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, etc
  • Iteratively computing features and tuning parameters to improve the quality of the model
  • Communicating your findings to the project manager and assisting him/her in decision making on the Data Science part of the project
  • Work together with the data scientists and engineers from our clients
  • Research new techniques to disrupt fraudulent behavior


  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field
  • Proficient in Machine Learning (training and testing, avoiding overfit, etc.)
  • Tensorflow and deep learning experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop and related
  • Proficiency in bash, Python, Go and either Java or Scala
  • ML pipelines (luigi, airflow etc.) and ML production infrastructure experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workloads on behalf of your team
  • The ability to explain complex ideas to a variety of audiences
